A suspected gas leak is a life-threatening emergency and must be treated as such. Natural gas and LPG are both explosive and toxic in sufficient concentrations — any smell of gas, unexplained headaches, or gas alarm activation requires immediate action. If you smell gas, do not operate any electrical switches, do not use your phone indoors, leave the property, and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999. Once the emergency has been made safe by the gas network operator and re-entry is permitted, our Gas Safe registered engineers carry out the repair — isolating the fault, repairing or replacing the affected section of pipework, fitting, or appliance connection, and conducting a full tightness test of the installation before restoring the gas supply. We also carry out post-leak safety checks on all appliances.
